What is your photography style?
I want my images to be bright, balanced, and emotive. What I mean by this is that when I am planning a shoot with a client, after we have decided on a location, I begin to plan the flow of the session. This includes where at the location specifically I intend to take you and what specific shots I'll take at these spots. So I'm looking for areas that will give me the type of light that will flatter you and create bright and balanced photos. I search for bright light that will make your skin, eyes and smiles pop! Lastly, I'm going to try to stretch you a little bit emotionally. I want you to almost forget I'm there and be into each other so that you can have fun because it's the interaction that makes for authentic and emotive photos.
What should we wear?
I advise my clients to wear what makes them comfortable. At the same time I want clients to think about what they want the images to look like when they receive them, so my advice is to strive for semi-casual. However, if you want to dress formal, that's fine as well. An additional rule of thumb is to avoid bright colors and logos since these tend to be distracting in photos and neutral color clothing is best. A good rule of thumb is to avoid wearing matching clothing but rather colors that blend well, so each person's personality is authentic.
Where will my session be held and how long will it last?
My sessions are between 45 minutes to an hour. Session can be located (almost) anywhere. I generally shoot in local parks, clients' homes, and even at museums. But I am very open to us having a conversation about choosing a spot. If in doubt, I can definitely suggest a location.
What are your rates and how many images will I receive?
My rates are $500 for families, $400 for couples, and $300 for individuals. All prices will include a 6% sales tax at invoicing and you can expect to receive approximately 25 high resolution images via an online gallery.
What is the timeline to receive photos after the session?
Generally I need two weeks after our session to have final images ready for my clients. However, if it is my busy season, I may need more time. Delivery dates are outlined in your contract.
What will the session be like?
It will be laid back and relaxed. My sessions are more like a fun afternoon with the family and I incorporate small games to get everyone laughing and enjoying themselves. There will lots of interaction and fun.
How do accept payment and do you require a retainer?
Personal checks are preferred for session fees. However, I also offer electronic payments and I accept all major credit and debit cards. I require 50 percent of your session fee as a downpayment to schedule you on my calendar. The remaining 50 percent is due one week before your session date. Please note that until the retainer is paid and the contract signed, your session will not be added to my calendar with your date and time blocked off.
What is your cancelation or rescheduling policy?
I fully understand that emergencies happen. I kindly ask that if you are running more than 15 minutes behind to your session, that we would need to reschedule. In situations like these your retainer is non-refundable and a new retainer will be required at your next booking. If at all possible I would ask clients to notify me as soon as possible if they would need to cancel their session. Similar to rescheduling, the retainer for a cancelation is non-refundable. If I have an emergency and need to reschedule or cancel, your retainer will be forwarded to your new session date.
